The Bay St. Louis Little Theatre will open its new 2014-2015 season with the musical “The Fantasticks” with music by Harvey Schmidt and lyrics by Tom Jones. It is the first musical to be performed in the new theater site. The production ran a total of 52 years and on September 15, 2013, gave its 20,000th performance, making it the world’s longest-running musical. It has been performed in 3000 cities, all 50 states, and in 67 countries since its debut. Famous actors who have performed in the production include Liza Minelli, Elliott Gould, F. Murray Abraham, Glenn Close, Kristin Chenoweth, Robert Goulet, and Richard Chamberlain.
