Looking for Volunteers at the Little Theatre
The BSL Little Theatre has started planning for our 2010/2011 season! Our first season in our permanent home is fast approaching and we're just giddy with excitement. What this means is that we're going to need some help getting back into the swing of things - things like a real, full season of shows! And we're asking all of you to help us.
We have a number of ways to help out the Little Theatre. If you're interested in volunteering for any of these positions, please call 228-864-2882 or email info@bsllt.org.
The Guild Play Selection Committee
The Little Theatre is very excited for our first full season of shows since Katrina. The 2010/2011 season will include four main stage plays, one Christmas fundraising production, and a youth summer theater camp production. The Guild committee set the play season.The responsibilities include:
- Meeting once a month with the rest of the committee to discuss proposed plays
- Reading one or two plays a month and presenting a synopsis and recommendation based on
requirements laid out by the Little Theatre’s Board of Directors - Setting the schedule for the up coming season by the first week in August
The Guild is one of the most fun committees at the Little Theatre, and we’re looking for 5 or 6
dedicated volunteers to take on this challenge.
Youth Theater Camp Producer
The Bay St. Louis Little Theatre, in collaboration with the Diamondhead Country Club, puts on an excellent youth theater camp every July. This year we are looking for a producer to help pull the event together. The producer is responsible for:
- Organizing registration
- Scheduling and organizing advertising and promotion, with the help of the Board
- Organizing the schedule with our contact at the Country Club & the show director
- Providing snacks for the children (purchased by the theater)
- Finding front of house volunteers for the performances
- Presenting a final report to the Board
The next Youth Theater Camp is in July 2010, so we're looking for someone to step up pretty quickly on this one.
Second Saturday Booth
Do you want to know what’s going on at the theater? Are you willing to pass on information about the latest news to the general public? Are you going to be at Second Saturday anyway? The Little Theatre needs volunteers to set up and man our booth in front of Bay Books on Second Saturday from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The president of the Board will call you the week before to give you the scoop on everything going on at the Theatre. If you can help out for one Saturday or a couple, we would love to hear from you.
