Harvey

The Bay St. Louis Little Theatre will finish the season with the iconic Pulitzer Prize winning production “Harvey” written by Mary Chase. It was been adapted for film and television several times, most notably in a 1950 film starring James Stewart.

Elwood P. Dowd is an affable man who claims to have an unseen (and presumably imaginary) friend Harvey — whom Elwood describes as a six-foot, one-and-one-half-inch tall pooka resembling an anthropomorphic rabbit. Elwood introduces Harvey to everyone he meets. His social-climbing sister, Veta, increasingly finds his eccentric behavior embarrassing. She decides to have him committed to a sanitarium. When they arrive at the sanitarium, a comedy of errors ensues.

The show is directed by Keith Gregory, assisted by Michael Brown, and produced by Cheryl Grace. The cast includes Barry Newman, Jennifer Noll, Alana Freimanis, Shannon Wooten, Bill Matkin, Bill Myers, Robert Smith, Jim Russell, Irv Hansen, Linda Allen, Michelle LeBlanc, and Gloria Noonan. Set is designed by Jen Coulter. Set construction is by Jen Coulter and Dean Noel. The stage manager is Jen Coulter. Light and sound is managed by Betsy Noll.

The show dates and times are June 1, 2, 8, and 9 at 8pm and June 3 and 10 at 2pm. Doors open one hour before the show and seating starts 30 minutes before each show.

Tickets for the show can be purchased online or purchased at Lulu’s at 126 Main Street or Twin Light Creations at 136 Main Street.
