Tuna Does Vegas

Tuna Does Vegas

“Tuna Does Vegas” is the most recent of the Tuna plays which began nearly 30 years ago. This fourth play in the Tuna series was written by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard. The show has plenty of laughs as we follow the characters from tiny Tuna to the bright lights of Las Vegas. Arles Truvie and his wife, Bertha, decide to take a vacation and renew their vows in Las Vegas, but their plan is compromised when almost the entire population of Tuna descend on Las Vegas to hilarious results.

Since the late ‘70’s, the Tuna series, i.e., “Tuna Trilogy”, “Greater Tuna,” “Red, White, and Tuna”, and “A Christmas Tuna”, has been winning various awards and nominations, including the Los Angeles Ovation Award, Helen Hayes Award, San Francisco Bay Area Critics Award, and the LA Dramalogue Award. The shows have been performed on Broadway, off-Broadway, the Kennedy Center, and several times at the White House.

The cast has 18 members of veteran actors and beginning actors. All the actors take on the characters of the funny citizens of the town of Tuna,Texas, the third-smallest town in Texas. This is a laugh-out-loud show driven by the outrageous characters. “The show’s cast is terrific and funny. We are having a great time in rehearsals. This is a must-see show for the community,” commented the show’s director, Glenda Schornick.
